Edition One — Guan Yu holding the Green Dragon Crescent Blade, jade green on black

Edition One

Frost Fair Blade 冷豔鋸

Guan Yu, holding the Green Dragon Crescent Blade. The figure is still. Nothing in the picture is moving except the fire, and the fire is behind him.

The face is not the opera vermilion the character is usually given. It is deep bronze, mostly in shadow, lit from below by the green off the steel. The brows are level. The eyes are half-lidded and looking somewhere off the edge of the frame.

The blade carries a rime of frost along its cutting edge. This is not invention: the weapon's second name is 冷豔鋸, Frost Fair Blade, from a battle fought in snow where the blood froze on the steel.

Will my mouse work?

Glass gives an optical sensor very little to look at. Micro-etching gives it texture to track, which solves most of the problem — but not for every mouse. The PixArt PAW3395 and PAW3950 families are the most reliable on glass, and they are what most current flagship mice use.

If the cursor jumps when you lift and reposition, set lift-off distance to its lowest setting in your mouse software and run the surface calibration if it has one. This fixes most of what people report as glass jitter.

Testing is still in progress. The list below is what we expect from the sensors, not what we have measured. It will be replaced with tested results before the edition goes on sale.

In a dark room

The green is printed under the glass, so it holds its colour under coloured light instead of taking it on.

The same desk, lights down.
The green is under the glass, so it keeps its own colour.
Where the picture falls away to black, the pad disappears.
